Serial production of Subaru Impreza new generation started in the USA

At the production space of the company Fuji Heavy Industries, which owns Subaru brand, located in Indiana, started serial production of model Subaru Impreza new generation. Until now, these family cars were produced only in Japan. Japanese brand was forced to organize serial production of the new generation of Subaru Impreza in the US because of the growing demand for this car in North America. Besides the new generation of Subaru Impreza, the plant in Indiana has released such models as Legacy and Outback, which are sold in the US and Canada.

We remind that a world debut of sedan and hatchback Subaru Impreza of new generation took place within the New York International Auto Show 2016. Both cars are built on a completely new platform SGP (Subaru Global Platform). Subaru North American dealers began receiving pre-orders for the new Impreza in the middle of the fall of this year.

In the US the model is available with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine providing 152 horsepower. At the initial stage, the dealers will sell cars, equipped with five-speed manual transmission, and next year the cars with the CVT will become available for sale. Regardless of the type of body and gearbox, new Subaru Impreza is equipped with all-wheel drive system.
